Greetings all,
You hear of so many people these days complaining about systems slowing down , espescially older systems.Some of the most common tools people forget to run regularly like scandisk,defrag and deleting tmp files.Also run a good registry cleaner and clear your history folder and tmp files which you don't need any more on the properties folder of ie explorer.

Also the ever popular mp3's which could occupy a lot of space.
Rather put them on a cd.Demo programs which gets installed and then deleted instead of being uninstalled.

One last thing is the size of your recycle bin.Older systems and smaller hdd drives definetely will benefit from this.

So what do guys think.
Hope this helps people with older systems.

a good program to get is cache decimator
heaps quicker than going thru IE to clean it that way

yeah u r right
and add one point that before trying new software plz. recommended hardware for it and donn't go in for minimum required hardware as u see winxp on 128 MB 'll definitely test ur patience to its limits :-)

I suppose we are talking about old windows systems like win95/98 on old hardware or with few resources... My "sis" has a Pentium 133, 32Mb RAM and 1Gb so when she asked me to optimize it I had a hard time but in the end I gave her a win98 optimized with 98lite (removes a lot of useless stuff and makes the system more stable), a small RAM optimizer and made a batch file loaded at boot that emptied all temp directories.
I'm not going to say that it was fast but at least it was workable and stable.

Deleting those files might clear up some space.
