    Question TROJ_AOLBUDDY virus found..

    I was just over at a friends house cleaning up his system for him and I found and killed 6 viri all with the same name, "TROJ_AOLBUDDY". I was wondering what this virus does and what I can do to recover from this. I just got through searching google and found little info on it..

    My guess is that it is an AOL Trojan affecting the buddy list of some sort. If you cleaned it than it should be fine but moniter the computer and any AOL buddie he might have. If you cleaned it, you should be fine, but it is probably just a trojan affecting either AOL period or the buddy lit. Just my thoughts.

    yea he said that he was having problems with aim cause it kept deleting buddies... he has been having major explorer crashes as well.. i dont know if this is related to the trojan.

    Yeah, then I guessed right! Lol, if you cleaned it than he shouldn't experience the problem again. Contact me if he does.
