    p2p protection?

    hey,
I was just wondering if a normal antivirus program like McAfee VirusScan and Norton AntiVirus scans incoming p2p files from programs like KaZaA. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, they don't. They will be scanned, however, once they are executed, at least if they are excutables. I usually recommend that people manually scan any files they download via P2P clients.

Yeah also be on the lookout for small .exe files and so on, Make sure you can see the whole filename of files eg the .txt bit because my friend thought he had an mp3 file called mj.mp3 but when he made windows show him the full name he got mj.mp3.vbs which is the love bug virus

There is no substitute for a good AV program. Manually scan everything you download from kazaa, morpheous, irc etc.

Here is the way I work with Morpheus:

First scan de file you have downloaded with a good and up to date viren scanner.

2nd Beware of exe files with strage names (moost of them are dialers)

If you downloading a zip scan again after unzip and BEFOR you run the file

    Greetings,

    bobo.
    I hate viren !!!!
