man caught d/l mib2 over kazza

hello peeps i read this in my daily newspaper
u can check there site to see if here is more info on this www.thesun.co.uk heres the article from the paper its ironically called men in black hack *eventhough it was only a download*
a scots computer worker who downloads a new blockbuster movie from the internet was caught-by the film company in america.
columbia tris star even pinpointed the exact terminal the man was using to get men in black 2 starring will smith at the IBM plant in greenock they tiiped off his bosses and he was suspended .
last night 1 IBM insider said "the guy couldnt beieve he was caufgt he must have thought he got away with it"
columbia tristar is believed believed to use software called kazza which automaticall tracks anyone trying to download copyrighted material
the programme then sends a messege to the user ordering them to stop immediatley.
if they ignore it they risk being prosecuted
the IBM insider added "you would have thought that being in the buisiness he would have known that he was on to a loser with this guy".
the guy was stunned when they came up to him.
John McGown spokesman for the federation against copyright theft said "we have not ben involved in the case as of yet"
"but we would investigate an allegation of copy rightright or trademark theft if it was brought to our attention"
colombia tristar last night refused to comment
an IBM spokesman said "i can confirm an investigation is being carried out into the missuse of our hard ware by an IBM supplier

what are u good peeps thoughts on this is this the start of hollywood hacking that i read here a few weeks back maybe?*hey i like conspiracys*

nah but seriously thats kinda scary thinking that they can actualy monitor my downloading then grab my IP and go to my ISP with it... i dont like that one bit

Well, it goes to show something needs to be done with pirating over P2P programs. Lately, the explosion of obviously copyrighted movies, music and software has the industry clammoring for ideas.

I have heard copyright holders are starting to prosecute individual users pirating, and heard some litigation was on the way. While I applaud the effort, it's like trying to stop a train by standing on the track holding up your hand palm up. It will be interesting to see what comes with all of this.

That's a good idea, and I hope more ISP's follow the lead. While I do not condone piracy, I do not condone people snooping in other peoples' property without consent. In the name of "protecting rights," the industry, gov't and other officials are policing everything, even thoughts. I am very angry about that, and am very saddened the things our country worked so hard for (and so many people died for) are going in the name of greed.

Either way, I am staying out of it by not using P2P

    what an idiot

Ok, I use P2P programs a lot. But come on....this guy guy was an idiot. He was downloading movies at IBM!!! I know for a fact that IBM has a policy against using P2P programs on their network as do most companies. It's one thing if this guy was at home and his isp booted him but he was at work. Come on...this guy deserved to be caught. It's like surfing for porn at work, you're likely to get caught.

He was guaranteed to get caugt, with the fact that most comanies log your IM's, emails, and surfing habbits, why would they ignore P2P programs? I wonder how long it will be till we see this siutation, but where the MPAA responds with a DDoS and accidentally kills an isp instead of just one person?

Interesting that this has happened in the UK, not the US.

Prodikal: undertakers complaint was that you linked to the paper that supposidly has the story, not to the story itself. Like undertaker, I don't feel like taking the time to prowl thru the site looking for the story....how about a direct link?
