    AntiPoints Assignment Bug...

When a thread is closed, usually you are not able to assign antipoints to that thread anymore. I have found a way around this, though, that I suppose needs to be fixed in case of abuse.

I was reading through this thread: http://www.antionline.com/showthread...515#post567132 just a few moments ago, and wanted to assign negative antipoints to cmnoop for bringing such a thing out in the public and criticizing one specific member, which I thought was disrespectful, and I wanted to give ac1dsp3ctrum positive antipoints for taking up for himself and to reimburse him for what mental/emotional abuse this public criticism may have caused.

I went to the thread a bit too late, and Neg had already closed it, so I was like "darn, can't assign any points." But, then I noticed that when I clicked on the "to view this post click here" thing on ac1d's post, it sent me to his post by itself ( http://www.antionline.com/showthread...=567139#567139 ), and I was able to assign points. Kool man, that seemed neat, but it didn't fix my problem of wanting to give negs to cmnoop.

I looked at the URL of ac1d's post, and saw that it had a "showpost" command in it, with the post number and "#" and the same number again, so I went into cmnoop's profile and found the thread I wanted to assign negs to, it was thread number 567132, so I just used the "showpost" command and it came up just fine on this page with his post, and I was able to assign negs to him: http://www.antionline.com/showthread...132#post567132

Just figured this might should be pointed out.

This also works, I just realized, for suicidal threads. This is proved here:

    Thread: http://www.antionline.com/showthread...hreadid=234374 (suicidal)
    Post: http://www.antionline.com/showthread...=566158#566158

And you see, you can leave pos or neg to this person's post, but only if you view the post by the "one message" way I described up there.

Just wanted to add one thing. It is possible to do this to any post, beacuse beside every post there is the word post followed by a number, people can find out the numbers of the posts that way, and assign APs to anybody. Thanks for bringing this up jehnx.

    Good find...
If a thread is closed/goes suicidal, you're not supposed to assign antipoints to it anymore. You outsmarted the system, and deserve all credit for it... you could have pm'd JP about it though.
Oh well, I guess you're on cmnoop's list now as well

i pointed this out a while ago and emailed JP about it but never made a offical post because i figured if that was done then people would abuse this!

we all know JP doesnt check this threads out very very very often and now that u made this public wont this be more abused then it was being???

i dont agree with the manner this was delt with and i think you were just looking for antipoints

thats just my opinion of course..

and with the cat out of the bag i mid as well add to this...

You can also put someone on ignore so that their post is hidden then when u hit SHOW itll pop up a new window that will allow you to assign points to post that you coudlnt orginally

i STILL disagree with how this was delt with jehnx

Worth should be judged on quality... Not apperance... Anyone can sell you **** inside a pretty box.. The only real gift then is the box..

NetSyn: I'm sorry you disagree with how I dealt with this, but it would make no sense for me to make a post wanting antipoints; it's gonna look the same no matter how many I have, cuz I already have all 11 dots, right?

Anyways, I don't how reliable PMing him is, being I'm not sure he checks his PMs at all because he probably gets a lot. I've PMed him a few times and emailed him and never gotten a response at all, so this is the only manner I see fit.

    Greetings:

This is part of a larger problem that rioter notified me about last night PRIVATELY like he SHOULD HAVE.

The problems have now been fixed.

    Thread closed.
