Reboot
"The term reboot comes from the middle age (before computers). Horses who stopped in mid-stride required a boot to the rear to start again. Thus the term to rear-boot, later abbreviated into reboot."

Not in computer terms. Reboot is Re-Boot, except boot has nothing to do with kicking things. It has to do with the phrase "Pulling yourself up by your bootstraps." (Sort of like pulling your hair to fly.) So computers 'boot' in the sense of pulling themselves up into life, rather than in terms of being kicked, and to reboot is to Boot Again.

At my workplace, we have a computer we call "Tyler's Boot." It is an old tower, and we keep it around for laughs. It has the imprint of the front of a boot on its case. Tyler was a student typing his term paper late at night when it crashed, and he had not saved. He kicked it, as which point it restarted and restored his work with only a few sentences missing.
If that is not reboot, what is?
