    Setting up Proxies

    How do i set up proxies for Avant Browser 6.5 and IE 6. I think i have found a proxy, i just need to know how to set it up.

    I mad that tutorial for IE5 a long time ago, I assume it won't be very different for IE6

    If your proxy is port 80, 8080 or 3128 it's probably an http proxy so u can put the settings in the http spot

    Do proxies slow my connection down any?

    Usually, unless you're on a 56k it can sometimes speed it up. But if you're on broadband its prolly just gonna slow u down.

    The original creation of proxies were to speed up your connection!

    so im going to have to say yes to that, thou i usually cant be bothered to use them unless i want to annonymise my self while surfing around.

    Every application ( not only Internet explorer ) has it's own help/readme file for SIMPLE questions. OR http://www.google.com/search?q=proxy...utf-8&oe=utf-8
