Either way you take a chance. Try to figure out the individual problems as others have suggested. If if still is not to your liking, take the plunge and uninstall.
    Good luck.

Well, my computer has slowed down on Start and Shut Down, and IE6 slowed to a crawl, too, so I switched to the Opera browser. Other than those 3 things, no trouble at all, but I think I'm one of the lucky ones. My computer is a generic, locally built, and I've come to think they have less trouble than the "name" brands. Just a guess, though.

    Go ahead, uninstall SP1.
If worst comes thw worst and the programs stop working...
    reinstall it.
    Simple!

Did you also download the later versions of DirectX? This could quite easily cause hardware compatibility problems that only a driver update will resolve.
Id recommend doing to videocard, sound card etc
If you are still having probs after that perhaps consider the latest bios for your motherboard.
If your Motherboard uses the VIA chipset then install the latest 4 in 1 drivers.

    Hope this helps.

I installed Windows XP with sp1 with no problems at all. With a little configuration its running great, and faster than my earlier windows operating systems. I hav'nt had many freeze problems but for those of you looking to optimize for speede check ot this site. Also, using litestep does'nt hurt.

Windows SP1 does come with its problems but the problems I had were fixed when I ran windows update and installed all of the critical ones and that help fix most of the probelms.

    Hope that may help
