I'd LOVE to have someone prove me wrong. Those of you who like to think for yourselves are gonna have to take some precautions soon. Wave the flag. Turn on your TV. Watch the game. Down some beers. Enjoy your soma.......
Yeah, think I've ranted here on this a few times in the past, too...

Ever since 9/11 (and to some extent before, just not quite as overtly), our own personal freedoms and privacies have been dwindling. Very Orwelian, I guess you could say... not too long your every feeling, thought and action will be government controlled and monitored (probably not in our generation, but not too far in the future) -- perhaps that's kind of "extreme," but the whole "Demolition Man" type society seems to look more and more inevitable as the future progresses.

I have a prediction, that's already come to pass in the UK, and has also been mentioned here. Before very long, there will be security monitors along the streets of all cities and towns, so the police can monitor our activities. It could already be happening for all I know. The last poll I saw on the subject said the public was willing to surrender that small right to privacy for more safety and security, although I'm not certain where the poll was taken -- certainly not in the smaller rural towns or villages.

Will the people of this country ever wake up and realize that liberty once lost can never be regained?
