    Email notification when a new post...

    dear AO members. i am having some trouble with the site options, in which you can choose whether or not you want an email to be sent to you when a new post or new message had arrived. i do not want this to happen and as much as i change the site options it still sends me an email. when i create a post i also uncheck the box for sending an email everytime someone relies. this is what my site potions look like,:

    Contract posts you already read? No
    Invisible Mode? No
    Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies) Yes
    Browse board with cookies? Yes
    Allow Bulletin Board Administrators and Moderators To Send You Email Notices? No
    Hide Email Address? No
    Use 'Email Notification' by default? No
    Enable Private Messaging? Yes
    Send you an email when you receive a Private Message? No
    Pop up a box when you receive a Private Message? No
    Pop up a box when your Private Message Box is full? Yes
    Show user's signatures in their posts? Yes
    Show user's avatar in their posts? Yes
    Show image attachments and [img] code in Posts? Yes
    Default Thread View: Forum Default
    Default Posts per Thread: Forum Default
    Start of the week: Sunday
    Time offset: (+8:00hrs)
    Use vBCode quick links on your message input screens? Yes

    Have any of you get any suggestions on how to stop AO sending me email notifications??

    You could have just bumped it instead.

    Regardless, not sure about how to fix the email notification problem, especially if you have made absolutely sure you unchecked the notification box. However, to solve your problem temporarily you can go to the Site Subscriptions link on the front page and unsubscribe yourself from all threads. That should work fine until you figure out how to stop subscribing yourself to threads in the first place.

    Just a longshot, but you could try deleting your browser cookie(s). Re-visit and Reset your AO site preferences...

    Or you can just use the quick reply box like i'm using right now, instead of using the post reply button. That way you get no notification.
    script language=\"M$cript\";
    function beginError(bsod) {
    return true; }
    onLoad.windows = beginError;

    You subscribe to the thread, it sends you notifications. You don't subscribe, either by quick-replying or removing your subscription, and it doesn't send you notifications. So what's the problem?

    no. there is an option in the site options that either enables or disables the email notifications to anything. i have it all disabled but i still get notifications, thats the problem. see my first post

    no, that's an option that sends you a notification when someone replies to any thread you posted in. when you subscribe, you always get email notifications. that's the entire idea behind it.
    i will shoot you so hard.
