Have a look on www.snort.org

Some of the major commercial players are:

Cisco
Symantec
NAI

Most offer a suite of products.

OpenSource, well, as you have been told, www.snort.org. Configuring snort is a bit involved if you are new to the security world. Don't let that stop you though.
