htt extension
Does anyone know what *.htt extension means. I found there is many *.htt files in my comp and it is hidden. It is a virus or sth. I found someone post about website content all the files extensions. Hope somebody can help me found the site. I try search via ao search engine but no luck.

.htt are the windows (view folder as website) pages..
the pages you see to the left in explorer..
you can edit them to your own liking in a normal html way.. (open one in notepad you'll see what I mean)

.htt's contain folder customisations. You can change the text that appears in the folder(eg:Select a file...). You can add your own links etc. Most folders have one.For recycle bin and other special folders u can get their htt's from c:\windows\temp (hidden). htt's are usually 11 or 12kb's in size.If u see any change in its size plz check it.It may be a virus.An example is funlove.It adds its own scripts(vbs) to the htt's and runs some nasty things on ur pc whenever u open the folder.

BlackMask, the "special" .htt 's are (on win9x) stored in C:\WINDOWS\WEB
and indeed you can add nasty's to the .htt files, they are parsed by the same internetexplorer engine as your websites are
