    Nvidia embraces Linux

Yes, Nvidia today took steps to make it easier to procure Linux drivers. The complete story can be found here or you can click here and go directly to the downloads page. You will find that they are also planning to support the forthcoming Athlon64. Kudos to Nvidia for making life with Linux just a little bit easier!

sweet_angel, thanks for reminding me that I forgot to mention the FreeBSD drivers can be found at the drivers link I provided.

<EDIT> To my "detractor"....I didn't edit my first post because I wanted to thank sweet_angel for reminding me of the fact that I left out the BSD drivers. I sincerely hope you get to understand how nice it actually feels to get negged for being polite sometime in the future, *******.

Terr's approach to complex purchasing decisions:

    "Nvidia or ATI?"
"ATI makes junky drivers that try to 'help' you all the time... Like windows does."
"ATI doesn't have nonwindows support, does it?"
"Nvidia supports Linux with their drivers..."
"Nvidia has some nice Nforce2 motherboards..."

    "I'm getting Nvidia!"

ATI radeon is suported by the linux kernel (if I'm not wrong) and also by XFree86..

    http://mirror.ati.com/support/faq/linux.html

The ATI drivers were always available..

I would have gone for an ATI card, If I wasn't waiting for the new Matrox !!
