I have a friend who really likes a cirtain girl in our school, and she likes him. The problem is that her mom is against them dating. The dad is OK with the subject and other fam members are cool with him, but the mom is against it. What should he do, if anything, other than wait it out?

Tell him to find out what it is her mom doesn't like about him from other family members. If it is attitude smile and be pleasant. Is it wild hair and clothing ? Tone down. He could tell the mom outright that he understands her concern for her daughter. Don't sneak around or her mom will really get ticked off. Spend some time at that house if possible (even with a brother) and let her mom see that he is ok. If he gets to go out with her obey to the T whatever rules are set down. After awhile her mom will loosen up considerably. If all this fails chalk it up to experience and move on. Auntie
For hundreds of years the brain was physically capable of the thoughts of a Galelio or an Aristotle among people who had not yet learned to count to ten. Much of that equipment is still unused and waiting.

Like auntie says, approach her and ask her directly what the problem is.There must be a reason why she is doing it otherwise she would have been ok with it.Trying to ignore the problem is only going to make it worse and he might end up loosing her altogether. If he knows what it is he might be able to do something to correct the situation. You all want to be comfortable with it don't you.

her mom is obviously jealous of her daughter's youth, and her ability to get a date...
