this file talks about the other issues raised when the security is only concern about ids and firewalls.
I got this file from the sans insitute, it is a bit comercial oriented but it still raised a couple good points and i figured it ought to be here

nabylbt, I'm sure if you got what that paper is talking about. They are talking about Web application security, and how a fire wall does not stop some attacking the web application as, it has to allow traffic throw so you can view the web page.

Say all this it is worth a read, cover the major points of web application security well. If any one wishes to read some more on this area try www.owasp.org
