What is the job status for a Java programmer in Asia and in the Rest of the World???

I do not quite understand the question... if you mean the job status of a JAVA programer, it can either be employed or unemployed.
Or maybe you mean the salary of a JAVA programmer. Let's see.... http://www.payscale.com/research/vid-3849 shows the pay scales of JAVA devlopers as well as other stuff (c++, UNIX, etc.).

If you happen to be in India, I can tell you that unless you know EJB, you ain't gonna get a job unless you're really really good. If you know EJB, you have a pretty decent chance of getting a job.

EJB is Enterprise Java Beans. In my understanding it's a competing technology with the Microsoft .NET platform and a critical part of the SunOne platform. Go to http://java.sun.com/j2ee for more info. According to Sun's site,
Enterprise JavaBeansTM is the server-side component architecture for the J2EETM platform. EJBTM enables rapid and simplified development of distributed, transactional, secure and portable Java applications.
