AO pics and gifs
is it just me or does AO seem to not be loading its pictures and its gif files. for example, the smilies at the top of the "Post a new Thread" page. and the ap status of people when they have responded in posts. also, everyone's avatars exept mine arnet loading.
i used opera, and it keeps getting stuck on either ads.antionline.com when its at the home page. or images.antionline.com everywhere else. i dont know whats wrong wether its just me or its AO. if it is just me how do i rectify the situation

I have same problem as you....TN123. I think something wrong with AO

AFAIK, images.antionline.com is occassionally down for some reason

Its the image server. All of AO's images are stored on another server. namely images.antionline.com. When this server goes down, thats what happens. All the functionality is still there, you just don't have any pictures. All it takes is for JP to kick the image server and its back up again.

I notice 2 have the same problem, it got 2 be is image sever for this site.
Hopefully it will be up some time soon. :rollingeyes:

just on a side note about this problem, why is it always the images server that plays up?
JP would have the same sort of system software on both servers wouldnt he?
just interested if anyone knows as the main site is never down but just the images stuff which is a little weird...

ahh this may be a dumb question but what's the purpose of an image server when you could have "www.antionline.com/images" .
does an image server improve the loading of images or is there something else i'm missing here?

wouldnt haveing an image server make the loading of images faster. and also if something went wrong with the images, AO could still function while the images went under repairs. i'm not sure but thats my thoughts
