Start Screens -if you don’t know

Changing Start Screens on Win 98 - if you don’t know

On Windows 98 , there are two files in the c:\windows folder Both files are 320 x 400 bitmaps. The files are

    1) LOGOS.SYS – YOU MAY SHUTDOWN SCREEN
    2) LOGOW.SYS – WINDOWS IS SHUTING DOWN SCREEN

You are allowed to edit these screens and have your own screen, as long as they are 320 x 400 bitmaps.

If you image is large you’ll need soft wares such as Corel Photoshop or paint shop pro to resize the picture to 320 x 400 bitmaps.

Then you’ll need to save it as .sys extension.

To change the Start screen in win 98….

    1) Create a file called logo.sys in 320 x 400 bitmaps and place it on c:\.
