    Bess/N2H2?

Does anyone know how to get past the bess proxy? I have acess to all of the network admin options. Its running on Windows 98. The only restriction is deep freeze but I can get past that. Does anyone know how to bypass bess?
[gloworange]And then it happened... a door opened to a world... rushing through the phone line like heroin through an addict\'s veins, an electronic pulse is sent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought... a board is found. \"This is it... this is where I belong...\" I know everyone here... even if I\'ve never met them, never talked to them, may never hear from them again... I know you all...[/gloworange]

do you have permission to get past all this? if deep freeze is on the computer and you didn't put it there then I'm guessing you're not supposed have this access. the network admin rights, were they given to you? or did you get them some other way? if you want help with this you're going to have to give a reason and it had better not be for something stupid.
Reality is the one who has it wrong, not you

The answer to this is pretty simple, and most people here, including myself, would be happy to help you out on this. But if you have full network Admin abilities, you should be able to without a problem. Why exactly do you need to get past this?

Might I ask where you are from? I worked for the school district here in Odessa (ECISD) for two years as a Computer Tech. We have BESS also. We ALSO have DeepFreeze! I installed over it on over 1,000 computers myself. Mwhaha. And as far as having admin rights, that will be of no help for DeepFreeze OR Bess. Even the admins are not allowed around Bess... ...If you are in the ECISD.

    Hay limpster,
I have the same thing at my school but I have learned that it is best all around if you just ignore it, and if you have a question about a sites contence ask your system administrator to review it for you....
I do agree that filtering is wrong but since the CIPA act was introduced it is illegal for any public school receiving federal funding to have open internet access..... They can also get fined if the feds find that a student found a way to get past the blocking system....

I know that it is really annoying, the other day I was googleing some things about driver’s education and it blocked a site saying that it contains porn..... But you know what I did... I pressed the back button and kept right on looking....

I have learned that if your are looking for legit info (no porn, no illegal stuff) you can always find it on a site that is not blocked...

    I hope this helps....
