motorola to join the linux craze
a month ago today i posted this talking about how nokia was going to start imbedding linux and java on its phones. It seems as if motorola has decided to join the idea of open source (besides who wants to pay 200 bucks extra for the software on your phone)
Now the true power behind motorola making this move
IN A DIRECT ASSAULT on the visions of Symbian and Microsoft, Motorola has announced it will be launching a mobile phone based on Linux. The A760 will have a colour screen and come with Java installed.
They have stock in a company and still decide to go another route. Ahh the true power of open source.
It is a surprising move. Motorola holds a 20% stake in Symbian
