Intel AnyPoint DSL Modem 3240 Help!

I just got me an Intel AnyPoint DSL Modem 3240 and need to know if there any drivers available for this and if not what type of generic driver could i use to get this setup on my RH7.3 box, if any?

Its USB only too so i know im gonna have ALOT of fun trying to get this set up, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ive tried searching www.google.com/linux for the modem model but im not having alot of luck!
Just more sad stories like mine!!!
There seem to be drivers for the Speedtouch USB modems but not mine...

Ive also had a look at www.linux-usb.org but couldnt find anything!

Maybe im not looking hard enough, but i dont seem to be able to find what im looking for!

    Thanks in advance guys

I did a pretty thorough search and I come up blank, also. Looks like you might need to learn how to code.

    Here's some help. http://usb.cs.tum.edu/usbdoc/

As you may already know, Intel does not have Linux drivers for this modem.

I know this isn't much help but at very least, it confirms that you have no manufacturer support for your OS.

[sarcasm]Yeah looks like good news all around![/sarcasm]

Be advised that any OS not listed above has not yet been tested for compatibility with the DSL modem.

But just because the modem hasnt been tested for compatibility with*nix, does not mean that it is not compatible!

The ECI ADSL driver does not support my particular modem Sevari, but thanx for looking!

Im just gonna have to wing it on me own then...

    r3b00+,

Maybe take a look at this one, as a last try.
Only negative point is that you've got to register there (Free ? they say), They say they can make drivers on request. Though, I've never tried it, it could be worth to try.

    Good luck,

    user : driver
    pwd : all

allthough, i didn't find anything yet, but you could make a request.

Thanks for the link shrekkie but no good either!

    Looks like im screwed...

Im absolutely amazed by the ignorance shown by large corporations, such as Intel, at not releasing drivers/software for any operating systems other than MS and Apple MAC.
No wonder so little people make the transition from Windows to *nix!

Sorry for the rant, i just think this is a joke!!!

Cheers anyways guys for trying to help

Well, it's all about the green r3b00+, Linux won't have the same financial retunr as MS and Mac. That's the bottom line.

You could try to contact one of those extremely talented programmers, maybe one that wrote some of those other drivers around. See if they'll take the task, some guys just love the challenge.
