File not found!!
Iíve the following problem. At my work Iím using a win NT4.0 box. (Yeah I know itís a shitty winbox). During start-up I receive the following message:
C:\Program Files\Normal Bestanden\CMEII\CMESys.exe not found.
I found out that it is a part from GAIN Software that apparently was installed on this machine. The next thing it does a search for shortcut named GMT.exe (Also GAIN). After a period it wound find the shortcut. My question is how to solve this. All answers form you guys are welcome.

If you use this software, re-install it, or get one of the IT guys to reinstall it.
If you don't use the software, un-install it, through Control Panel/ Add/Remove programs.
If it is not in this list, or it does not un-install properly, it probably means that someone just deleted the directory instead of properly removing it. The simplest thing to do in this case, is to get the software re-installed, them promptly un-installed to clean up all the shortcuts and what not.

At first, my apologies for this off-topic reply...
Is this just happening to me only ????
In this thread for the second time there are posts which are disappearing.
Normally this thread should have about 8 replys by now.
Is everyone replying and deleting afterwards ? hehe ...
PS : I noticed because I had a similar prob and I was following the thread.
We should change this thread topic into 'replies not found...' , lol
To the one who said this to me :
If you don't know what you're talking about , just STFU !!
and you thought that was funny
Anyone else , please ignore this , please...

open regedit.exe(start>>run>>regedit.exe) search for the keys "run" and "runonce" if you found a string value with the name "CMESys.exe " or any other progie you don't want to auto start when windows starts delete the key and restart your computer...some progies add a shortcut to "[rootdrive]:\Documents and Settings\user\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" if you found a shortcut that points to cmesys.exe or gmt.exe in this folder remove them.
hope this helps!

I've already run regedit, but didn't find any string with the name "CMESys.exe. Also found no shortcuts in my rootdrive]:\Documents and Settings\user\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Still have the same problem when i start up. Do i have to look in a *.*ini file if so which one??

if you can not find a string value with that name it means there is another progie that requests the execution of CMESys.exe.,you have to find that progie and then remove any string value that points to it in the "run" or runonce" keys.the best way of finding the progie is by comparing the processes running (task manager-->processes tab)with the strings in the "run" & "runonce" keys.

Did a search with the key "runonce" and found the following string:
Now is my opion not to delete this one. I believe i should keep this one. In the task manager-->processes tab didn't find any progie that is not related to this one. So, still no solutions

CMEsys.exe is a componenet of GATOR(spyware) that runs in the background http://www.liutilities.com/products/...ibrary/cmesys/ try downloading the newest version of ad-aware www.lavasoft.de and run the updates, then scan the local pc. That should take care of it.
