    Gas: price comparisons

This is an email that my grandmother sent to me, I thought it amusing....I'd never thought of gas prices in quite this light before.

Do You Think A Gallon Of Gas Is Expensive?
Makes one think, and puts things in perspective.
    Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ....... $10.32 per gallon
    Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ....... $ 9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20 oz $1.59.............$10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25......... $10.00 per gallon
    Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ......... $33.60 per gallon
    Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ......... $178.13 per gallon
    Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 ......... $123.20 per gallon
    Whiteout 7 oz$1.39 ............... $25.42 per gallon
    Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ................. $84.48 per gallon
This is the REAL KICKER..........Evian water 9 oz for $1.49 .........
    $21.19 per gallon.
$21.19 FOR WATER! ....and the buyers don't even know the source. But
then again EVIAN spelled backwards is NAIVE !
So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on
water, Scope, or Whiteout, or heaven forbid, PEPTO BISMOL or
    NYQUIL!!!!
    Faqt

I did see that a while back. People always complain bout gas prices...

    I complain bout software prices..
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.

If you think that gas here in Canada or the US is expensive...try any European country!!

They have been paying nearly twice as much as we are and they have been doing this for many years. Plus their insurance rates are ridiculous and smog and safety inspections very expensive.

In Canada (BC specificaly) we pay 84 cents a LITER. This equates to over $3.00 a US gallon

Not expensive when you compare it to Pepto Bismal...but I don't use 30 gallons of Pepto Bismal on a week-end trip. 4 oz lasts me at least a couple of months.
Now if you were comparing gas prices to the price of a REALLY good single malt scotch.....then you would have an argument that gas is actually cheap....

Great Thread. Had a good laugh at the comparisons.

    Peace

There was actually a petrol station in Manchester, England which displayed the price of milk on its large sign along with the price of petrol, diesel etc.

The milk was slightly (but not much) cheaper.

Shows how differently we tax stuff over here (I don't think the milk is taxed)

It's more expensive in the UK. However,

    1. We don't all drive 2-ton pickup trucks
    and
    2. It isn't 1,000 miles to the next town
