    BGMP:New Domain Protocol

    Hi,

    Just came across a term - Border Gateway Multicasting Protocol (BGMP). Its a new inter-domain multicasting protocol that addresses many of the scaling problems of the earlier protocols. It is an inter-domain protocol in that it adopts particular design features of BGP familiar to providers. Uses TCP connections for the transfer of routing information.

    Could not make much out of these few lines.

    Can someone shed more light on this?
