2003 Technology Almanac
Many of you here may know the author of this book from TechTV.
Leo Laporte's 2003 Technology Almanac
It is designed for you to read a page a day. It has interesting daily facts and covers a wide range of technologies.
Many of them are for beginners, or people who haven't done all their homework.
I have found several subjects that I was curious about, just never took the time to look it up.
You name it: from video, audio, digital photography, ways to beat spam, speed up your computer, compression, e-mail tips, and a whole lot more!
I know its already March... well tomorrow, and you'd be two months behind.. but 60 pages istn't that much to catch up on. I did it in 1 lunch hour and just took note of the links for further examination.
Its a way to stay fresh with different types of technology, not just computers and security.
He also references some great utilities, most of which are free. He lists several links to find more info and has some just for fun info days...
All in all, I think it is a good book to read, so far.
Though... it has never taken me almost a full year to read a single book...
It kind of reminds me of one of those Daily calanders that have stupid fun facts on them.
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.
