    Members Only

I've noticed that at any given time, there are atleast twenty guests logged onto the site, up to 100+ (140 at the time of this posting).

It occurs to me that we might get a lot more posts if we could get some of these people to join the site, and share their knowledge. Perhaps if there were more membership benefits, or they were more well known, more people might sign-up for the site, post more, and improve the general quality of AO.

This just occured to me as a possibliity, so I wanted to bring it up.

A lot of those guests are members, but just havne't logged in. You'll notice that many of them browse the file/text archives and they have to login to dl anything from there.

Unless you have your site option to login automatically, you will show up as a guest.
Quitmzilla is a firefox extension that gives you stats on how long you have quit smoking, how much money you\'ve saved, how much you haven\'t smoked and recent milestones. Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers... Helps out with the urges.

Well I would hardly say that anyone who sits around and learns from others is really "stealing" unless someone is takeing source-codes and then saying that they wrote it or something like that.

    Cute, I like the idea.

As for site benefits, what would you suggest? That we get paid for a great submission like a useful tutorial? There really isn't much else that comes to mind as a site benefit. I mean, we get free information, free files downloads, free chats, banner-free surfing (at a certain point), conference rooms (also earned), as well as other little things like custom avatars, and e-mail.

If you're thinking a wargame server, the issue has been brought up, and it is (i think) in the works.

So what would you have in mind?

Also, keep in mind that some of these guests are banned members checking something out.

    |The|Specialist: this is for you: i think you are wrong in one way u said if u "learn from others" What if they were teaching whats wrong with that. I would say getting into something they wrote without there permission is wrong but from just learning fro msomeone is not wrong

Dude WTF..... I never said anything about it being wrong to teach others. I just said that I could care less if peaple come here to read or not. and as for open source.... if I were going to do a project with barrowed code I'd atleast have a special thanks form which thanks everyone who supported it.

And I don't understand why you posted in this old thread just to talk about my difference in opinion.
