Well isn't this an interesting situation. SCO is suing IBM for $1B due to the fact that SCO owns the patent to the UNIX OS, which IBM licenses from SCO for IBM's AIX OS. Apparently IBM has been giving away parts of it's AIX code to Linux developers, and SCO wants some money for this breach. SCO also pulled a simliar suit when it purchased DR DOS and then sued MS for patent infringments.

So how will this affect IBM's support for Linux and how will it affect IBM's support for their own OS, AIX.
