OSI Reference Model
Internet Trivia:
OSI (Open Systems Interconnect) was created by the ISO (International Standards Orgainisation)?
Wrong, it was created by the IOS (International Orgaisation for Standardization). ISO comes from the greek isos, meaning 'equal', it is a word not an acronym, it was used as a global means of identification regardless of translations. The ISO was establidhed in 1947, and developed the OSI model in 1984, as a framework from which we can discuss protocols. Visit: www.iso.ch
