    Opinion On Hacking Exposed Book

    Hi,

Has anyone here read the book called "Hacking Exposed". If yes, then its fourth edition is out in the market. I just want to know that is it continuation of the previous books or a person should buy the latest edition and it will have the things discussed in the previous editions. And another question that how is this book. Is it worth buying and reading.

    Thanks.

    Best Regards.

I have Vol 2 and it was a good read. They go over various hacking techniques and they also go over countermeasures. Along with that, they point out tools used for haxoring and for countermeasures. If you want, you can go to their site and download a sample chapter of their latest volume and decide if you like the format.

    Hope this helps.

I'll agree, it's a good book. I have the third edition, it includes a cd. I especially like how it's broken up into small sections so you can put it down and pick it right back up easily. Yes, it is worth buying....but don't pay retail (like I did). Try finding it on Amazon or half.com

According to the replies, I figure out that I should buy all the four editions with the cd.

Now, the most important question, does anybody have any clue from where can I get these books cheap. Some editions of the book are available here http://www.discount-pcbooks.com/ and their offer is the cheapest so far.

So if any of you have some knowledge of some other cheap book buying store or website, then please do share it with me. I shall be very thankful over this act of kindness.

    Thanks

    Best Regards.

Seems redundant now- but I highly recommend the whole series of books. I have the 3rd Edition of Hacking Exposed and found it invaluable. I also have read Hacking Windows 2000 Exposed and I am working through Hakcer's Challenge right now. These guys put out very informative, good quality books.
