    CCNA Exam Question

Well the school year is almost over and like many students in IT programs that means certification exams. My cert of choice is CCNA. Almost done cisco semester 4 and plan on writing the exam about a week after that. Just wondering if anyone could provide any insight on the exam its self. Is there anything in the exam that maybe wasn't emphasized in cisco's text books or on-line content?

The main topics I'm focusing most of my studying on are
    -ACLS
    -Subneting
    -Router commands
    -Trouble shooting

I fairly good at memorization so I'm not to worried about ISDN/Frame Relay/IPX/OSI stuff.

In the CCNA 2.0 exam, router simulators were a big part of it. Also don't forget the WAN protocols.

I too am taking the CCNA semester 4 exam (both skills and written) in about a week and a half.
I just got home from my class and we did a review. We basically reviewed EVERYTHING from semesters 1-4. I will be taking the CCNA cert exam shortly after. I'm going to give myself a month to go over everything get a cram exam. There is a voucher test you can take too... if you are part of the academy. If you pass with a 75 or better (won't go against your grade) you can get 40% off the cost of the exam (normally like $125 or so).

We have the option to take some pre-tests too... like semester pre tests, and CCNA pretests.

Here are the CCNA Exam Objectives...

    CCNA Exam Objectives

I'll make sure to go through that list.

Some of the better materials I've found for studying are
    -boson router simulator
    -boson CCNA practice test
    -boopser study guides

Everyone in my class got together and cooked up a CD full CCNA study material about 700mb worth. I've been going over it for a few weeks and I haven't starched the surface.

Dumped a tree /f /a to a text file and attached it to this post just in case anyone wants to go look for some of it on Google of Kazaa.

    Exclamation Revision

Don't foget the Threaded Case Study, logical and physical topologies.

Just go through and use Review to get all the important details, like why use a Multimetre, or the OSI layers.

Look at your engineering manual too, especial the ones on LANS, and Cables

woaow that was a lot of links sanriver12 did you have all on favorite or did you google them all ?

anyways, i passed the ccna last year and there was more emphasis on metrics of protocoles rip, ospf, eigrp ... know the differences and remember why sna cannot be routed directly ...
here is a targeted doc that should help out.
    assembly.... digital dna ?

I'm currently taking the cisco 4th semester but i took and passed the CCNA before i had even finished the third semester. Subnetting and ACLs are an absolute must also I'd recommend going over first and second semester labs to prepare for the router sims. Know all your OSI basics in and out and as for WANs, most of your studying can be focused on ISDN though skimming the others won't hurt any.

The CCNA isn't all that difficult, I used Sybec's CCNA study book to prepare on stuff I hadn't yet learned in the cisco curriculum.

    Have fun and Good Luck!
