    Post *nix

    I have decided to switch to a new *nix OS, but I don't know which one I should use and I don't know were I can study it. I have been reading thru many of the *nix OS treads and I have found some answers but not all. So I have decide to ask directly. Which *nix OS is easier to start off with, but I also want to be able to learn as much as I can About the OS before and while use it.

    Simple. Use www.google.com and search for "Linux", "BSD Distributions" or "Unix" I am sure you will get plenty of things to help you.

    I do not know how many times this question has been asked.

    Many, many,many,many,many,many,many,many,many,many, times.

    Search engines are great. Use them.

    Hi PCPunk28,

    Yep, this question has been asked countless times here on A.O. as well as just about every other computer related forum, mailing list, or BBS. But.... If you knew that you probably would not be asking so here goes.

    - Install Red Hat 9.0 or Mandrake 9.1 -> Read,Read,Read, -> and have fun!

    Note: Other distro's might be fine ( like Suse ), just pick one and get started.
    Get OpenSolaris http://www.opensolaris.org/
