Well, use your common sense about what you should and shouldn't edit. Remember that copyright law covers all kinds of intellectual property including Flash animations. But if your sure, grab a copy of swfscanner http://www.livetronix.com/products/swfscanner/index.php;

info - those progs don't actually convert back from .swf to .fla but they do allow you to rip out sounds/graphics/actionscript
