checkpoint's APPLICATION INTELLIGENCE
Yesterday CHECKPOINT announced "APPLICATION INTELLIGENCE" new feature for its widely deployed FireWall-1 and VPN-1 boxes.
Reading through the web page, I got an answer that APPLICATION INTELLIGENCE is focus on preventing application-driven attacks. sounds good~~
But in the past, CHECKPOINT was always touting its "STATEFUL INSPECTION" has the ability to INSPCET high level (up to layer seven)packets acrossing network,
so now is APPLICATION INTELLIGENCE a brand new product or just add some enhancements on its STATEFUL INSPECTION and SMARTDEFENCE?

I just spoke to Checkpoint's Engineers and Sales People the other day about this exact product. They are marketing it as a new product, but it is based on much of what was offered in SmartDefense.
I have not tried it yet, so I can't tell you for sure though

If you do try it I would be interested in hearing the results.
