    BEFORE YOU START.

    a) How to open registry editor

    start>run>type regedit

    b) Knowing Registry

Registry editor is divided into two major part

    1) left side- from where you can move to a particular path

    2) right side -where you can create/modify the values.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[1] Hiding the content of MY COMPUTER

    Path:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    Create new DWORD as NoDrives.

Modify its value( hexadecimal) to 3FFFFFF
    Refresh it by pressing F5

    close registry editor

    Click on my computer

see its gone, if not >> restart yr computer

Want to see them again just delete DWORD from registry and restart.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[2] REMOVE START BUTTON (better learn this not implement)

    Path:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Create new Binary value as NoSta*****ner
    Modify its value to 01 00 00 00

    refresh or restart

Want to see again set the value to : 00 00 00 00

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[3] Menu Show Delay ( Is yr menu takes time to move up/down )

    Path:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

    Create String Value as MenuShowDelay
Modify its value to :1 (fastest)
rem*: you can change its value in the range of 1 to 999 it counts in milliseconds

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [4] Disable Dial-Up/Modem connection

Rem*:No one will be able to dial from until you will set it up again from registry.

    Path:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Network
Create new /modify DWORD as NoDialIn
    Modify its value to:1

Want to use it again set its value to 0

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5] Add bit map image to IE

    Path:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
Create string value as BackBitmap or BackBitmapIE5
Modify its value to the path of ur bitmap

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This type of text is available in the books ~ Internet and up to my commonsense most of you are already aware about at least one of these, assuming there is always first to something I did prepare for new ones about registry.

I am not expert in registry editing but I use to play with my registry to learn more, by applying tips found on books/Internet.

Yr comments /suggestions /Critics are welcome to make this place more better.
