cheyenne are you sure you dont mean an 8086? I dont remeber a 186. I thought it went from 8086 to 286 as far as production models were concerned. I could be wrong. It wouldnt be the first time and wont be the last

I think Cheyenne means a 8086 processor, cause the 186 from Intel is a processor solution for embedded systems not for pc's. see http://www.intel.com/design/intarch/prodbref/272222.htm

lol yes zombieman i remember the commodore 64 that was my first until my ex sold it on me
and i still got my old ibm with the dip switches on the motherbroad and with the old monochrome crt. And it still works.
I had to google 'jfgi' to see what it meant. The irony is overwhelming.

jm459, yes it's weird, AO is realy an addiction.
The oldest boxes I have seen? That have to be the IBM terminals (display consoles) and the /3081 ? system at my dad's work when I was a little child. Or does mainframe stuff does not count? Almost 20 years later I worked there too and had to move (read: throw away) some of these obsolete terminals, damm those things are heavy. You can kill someone easily with the keyboard alone
The first box I 'worked' with was a TI99/4A with audio tapes for storage. I typed my name before I could write it, lol.
