    Question About Multiple User Accounts On XP

    Hello Everyone... I got a question fo course.

    I am using Windows XP and my father has set up so I have administrator properties, but I am on my own account so If I do not do my chores, he can change my password.

    Now I am against internet porn and such but I am wondering, if I were to delete my history and cookies on my account, would they still be stored on his?

    Depends how your father has set the preferences (when you make two accounts on the same computer, you can pick if you want to share the file/history of the other user) making your cookies visible to the other user. But if your father has not then it will not save on his side of the computer (Doing this by checking a box next to what you want, when making the two accounts). If am wrong someone please correct me .

    I Am Not worried about him looking at that stuff since I dont like anything like that. I am just curious, if I were to delete them on my account, would they stay on his?

    I'm sorry.. but I have to say BS...... mind you that did make me laugh... I love when people make excuses... especially humourous ones...

    If you were truly worried about disk space there are other things that would be closer to the top of the list.... and if you were only worried about things related to surfing the net and disk space then the first thing would be Temporary Internet Files... the space taken up by cookies and disk space is insignificant, you could almost consider it to be null.... especially with today's HDD capacities.

    Especially since you felt the need to add the whole porn spin in the first place.. you were trying, very poorly I might add, to cover it up. It's not different than people say.. "How do I infect someone's computer with netbus... I don't want to do it and i'm not a hacker, i'm just curious about how it's done." Adding unnecessary information is human's nature to try and cover up, it's also something that people can easily pick up on.

    Please dont flame me. I swear to god I was being honest. I SWEAR please believe me I dont not like to look at porn bacuse I feel it is exploiting women, even though most of the times they do it themselves for money. But still I DO NOT look at it I swear to god please I am honest. My friend said he cleaned his history with a program and it removed 600MB from his comp and if its all backed up on other user's account, I have 4 on mine, thats 2.4GB. Jesus Christ now dont you see? I only have a 10GB HD so thats something to worry about. You think you know every.. god. I am not flaming but please why would I have any reason to hide it? Doesnt "everyone" look it? I might be wrong but isnt that why I asked the question in the first place?

    It is my belief, perhaps wrong, that if you have administrator status on this computer, than you can change your own passwords, make your own account private from even another administrator.
    If you right click on your "My Documents" folder (under 'Start') it will bring up a menu that you can choose properties on. There is a tab there that says 'Sharing" and then in the first block "Local Sharing and Security". There will be a check block that either makes your folders and file private, or opens you up to sharing with the other admin types. After you check private, then go to 'Control Panel' then 'Users' ....pull up your own account, and change your password.
    I could be wrong, but that is what I understood when reading the specs on Windows XP.

    Allright Thanks.. but does history and temp files take up alot of space lik emy friend told me?
