    Shiva

My company has been using Intel's Shiva product. For those who don't know, its a VPN device. Anyway, I just want to report that it sucks. It won't let you in sometimes. It requires a special utility to be installed on each node. It cuts you off sometimes when you're connected. I don't recommend it and I'm curious to see if anyone else has any experience with it.

Why is this a bad thing in the face of security?

What is your company using this device for exactly, and what makes you think it is the hardware at fault?
I have a question; are you the bug, or the windshield?

We have been using Shiva LanRover here for quite some time. We only recently dismantled it because it was 'End of Life'. It worked flawlessly for many years.

Installing a utility on every node isn't all that bad. Ever tried other VPN solutions?
Are you sure you are not disconnected because of some idle time-out?
