someone has hacked my website..

hi everbody,

someone has hacked my website hosted on www.
mysitespace.com a couple of days back.

the hacker has changed my login password for the site.

the password retrieval through email is also not responding.

pls help.

Hey blowhard, This is whats going to happen in the near future...

First im going to tell you to do a whois search on the domain or something and ask the admin@somesiteabused.com or someone else for help... but it looks like you were looking along the lines for things like keylogers and bruteforcer programs 'eh? So then after you ask for that im just going to flame you like I did in these other threads....

This is a highly flawed attempt at social engineering for tools, tips, help, & (ect). And once agian you've managed to insult the intelligence of both myself and my fellow AOers. However you still have a chance for a better future here if you stop spaming about site defacements and trash like that....

If the site was yours (which I doubt, but I'm bored and I'm going to answer this anyway), you could go about getting your password by contacting the administrator with required information about your account. It's as easy as sending an e-mail their way, you might have to verify some personal information, and I've had to do this once or twice, but you'll have access back to your account in no time. Of course, this wouldn't work if it's not your account. Which, sorry about your luck?

Ok, Im going to go a differnet direction in this response, I agree with the two obve me but will gie you the benifit of the doubt. If it really was your account and soemone took it the first thing anyone stealing an account will do is chnge the email adress attached to it so when you try recover your assword its not sent to you. so your only choice is to contact the admin. Also if someone is stealing your account then they are planning on defacing it and will want credit ofr it. so vist the site and see if they leave contact info. if so send the guy and email and talk to him. lol there is a very low chance of a response but hey you never knbow he may even give you the info back. these are a couple options and I hope that you are not some lamer trying to learn how to "hack" accounts. And good luch on getting YOUR account back.

I believe that if you are having issues with your website then you should probably contact the customer service of the hosting provider that you mentioned. They can legitimately help you while everyone else here will have their little witch hunts.

i tried to contact admin but of no use, but haven`t recd any sought of confirmation from the same. there is no contact info. of the hacker on the site...only defacement is done.

is there any chance of recovering my website or able to detect who`ve hacked my site.

well here's a thought, is this a personal or professional website? Are you paying anything for the server space? Do you have a redirect?

I would say if this is a personal website that isn't costing you anything, I would simply just move it to another host and cut your loss. I would def move the website if the admin or the customer service people aren't being helpful and you are paying for the space.

If it's professional then you should have your company get all your documents together and go through and make sure they cover stuff like this. Then hold them for lost time and what not if your site goes down or if it has been down.

And if you have a redirect, then I would try to get your site (or even just a temp site that states you are having problems) up somewhere else and reconfig your redirect to that space until things can be sorted out.

Just a thought...

although the site was loaded on free web space....but i was using it as my official website...

the address of my website is very widespread know, that`s why i don`t want to change it instead i want to recover it.

the problem really gets serious when my site redirects to porn.

in any case i want to get through my site.....

Hey you're welcome, just tyring to help out. Who is your free host? Have you tried actually phoning them to get a quicker responce to this matter? And is the redirect service part of the service you have through the said host?
