this may sond kinda dumb but how do i get it to my laptop
i would put the file i downloaded on to the diska nd it would be fine bt i need something to uncompress it in dos/ win 3.1
and i try to but one of the bin files i downloaded on to it but its to big even tho its not. its a 1.44 meg floppy but winblows will only let me write 1.38 and im running out of ideas
ok let me simplfy my problem

    i downloaded
    DLX-1.0-src.tar.gz 1362k
    pb_en-D.bin (freebsd ver)1440k
tomsrtbt-2.0.103.dos.zip (also in gzip form) 2191k

Ok hexadecimal I did find one or three here is the link to it http://win3x.tucows.com/comp_default.html They may have a time trial on them but that won't really matter since you won't really need it after you get Linux on your laptop hope that helps you.

    linux on a laptop

I can completely dig what your trying to do, I love tinkering with old/outdated technology. Sometimes you find it is more reliable than the new M$based technology.

Toms distrobution of linux on floppy is real nice, buzybox rocks.

Anywho, this is what ur gonna need,
1.another computer (temporary) with at least dos on it.
    2.unzip or pkunzip
    3.rawrite for dos or windows
    4.a floppy disk or two.

Download the packages to your temp computer use pkunzip or unzip (off the windows cd) to unzip the file.

Next put in a floppy disk and type rawrite tomsdistro.img a:
and wait for it to write, the windows version of rawrite is nice, just choose the img file and click create or write...

when its done, copy your packages or extra modules to their directories on the floppy.

Put the floppy in your laptop and reboot.

    Taddaa, you got linux.
    Whats a \"START\" button?
