It's reasons like that why people need to learn that they need a router with a firewall built in... need to know how to use it! People these days need to understand that just because you have a computer, doesn't mean you can't be "stupid about computers"! There should be like a computer license or something, that you have to take a test to be able to use and operate a computer, well at least if it's connected to the Internet. That way 40% of the worldwide bandwidth wouldn't be used by people that hijack broadband connected computers. I donno, when I hear stuff like that it just makes my skin crawl! I just can't understand why people would just plug a computer into the Internet, not care about antivirus software, or about having a firewall... or even doing security updates?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    Good find Tony, as always!

    Just a rant...

Yup, what deepsy is doing is wrong although its funny.

But censorship is too much. I hate when that happens. I should be able to decide for myself what I see or what I dont see. I dont wnat someone else deciding what I can see. With censorship comes ignorance.

Censorship of information allowed to citizens is a dangerous practice. Just about anywhere and anytime in past history where the "government" controlled the information available to "citizens" the end result has been destructive. That said, the actions of "Deepsy" will probably be met with smiles of humor from a good portion of the population. Until they stop to think about it longer. If "Deepsy" was just taking down the porn sites, replacing them with some kind of funeral-parlor music or whatever, it would more likely indicate his simple displeasure with the porno sites. Again, if he targeted just the sites with kiddie-porn, it would indicate his abhorance of that despicable vice. The thing that give me pause, however, in the reported actions of Deepsy is simply this: He is using his skills to blackmail porn sites, to either pay up or be overwhelmed. They pay up, he takes the money and the sites stay online. This does not tell me that he actually is interested in the porn content available online. It seems to me that he is simply targeting the porn sites to obtain money, counting on the authorities laughing about it instead of tracking him down. Now, if he was telling the porn operators something like; "either you donate (some acceptable amount) to Missing Children, or else....." then it would show he is not just interested in obtaining money for himself. And the porn sites could display a banner saying "We donated..." In fact, if he were ever caught, and had been enriching the Missing Children instead of himself, it would be very difficult to get a jury, or maybe even a judge, that would not turn him loose. But, all that musing aside, if i were to give "Deepsy" any advice at all, it would be "Move frequently". He's messing with some very aggressive fellows with very deep pockets. If he thinks he cannot be found, then he has violated rule one in The Old Man's book: "Never underestimate your opponent!".

Hey, I like porn. The hackers are doing a favor and taking down Kiddie porn sites. That would be nice. Otherwise, back off my porn dammit!

That is all. Masturbaters of the world unite! :-P

Well put, AcidDriveHB! I have been trying to convince 'tchno-weenies' that I converse with that a PCL (Personal Computer License) would be a REALLY GOOD thing.

I mean, after all, a machine in the wrong hands (read: Dopey hands), can prove more troublesome than a malicious hacker. The hacker knows how to fix what he/she does. A stupid user just gets him/herself in deeper and deeper ****.... Usually.

I suppose all we can do is be there to help....*sigh*.....

If he is asking for money he is definetly a criminal. Also, why does he go against porn sites? I'm sure he could've found some better ones to go after like ones with child porn. Those sites deserve to get DoS'd. He'll just wind up being caught and getting sent to prison... there goes another one.

hmmmmm.........Seems like this is the same discussion that occurred when someone wanted to hack 'HATE' sites. (wish I could find that thread)

It's a question of morality; and personal choice. There is always a person or group who will go to great lengths to force their views on others. And some who will wreak havoc to get their point across.

    My 2 Cents worth.

Well I guess he has the right ideat aimed at the wrong site...I too agree that we should DoS all the kiddie porn sites, go after them and cut their balls off, also DoS all those porn spam servers. all they do is take all that little space that I have left in my hotmail account.
