SOCKS5 in Lebanon
Hey guys,
Help me out here. I'm posting from an Internet cafe in Lebanon. I have this problem here... I can't connect to SOCKS5. I don't really know why, or who to connect. And I've never had this problem before because (in America) I've never had this problem. I don't know who is in charge of the Internet here, and I'm getting mixed, unclear responses. (I don't speak Arabic.) One thing I'm sure of those is there isn't some kind of censorship program implemented by the government, like in China. Maybe I should try Peekabooty just in case, huh?
Well, is there anything you guys would recommend? Perhaps a program that could in someway convert SOCKS4 to SOCKS5. I don't know if this is possible, but if it is, inform me. I've read about universities that block programs on SOCKS5 like Kazaa. Perhaps the ISP here is doing that... But from what I'm hearing even the ISPs don't have SOCKS5... like the whole country doesn't have it.
In which case, could you recommend a proxy? Any help would be appreciated. The Internet where I'm staying is only connected for a few hours, from 3:30 to 5:00. (6:30 - 8:00 a.m. EST) So I'll be checking any responses then.
Peace,
Ramzi

Hola,
I think a search program and looking for any spyware or IP blockage program would be a start. I would go to add/remove programs, well, I need to know what OS your using. If it is Windows, then go to add/remove programs and look for files that poke out, search for them, then read the "Read me files" to find out what it is and what it does. Once you find it, delete at will. But if you can't find anything, then go here "http://www.file-archive.com/details.asp?id=5709" and download it. It's a proxy finder. Then it should work. In all other cases. post again with the results.
