    Porn Sites Hijacking Computers

Hackers, possibly based in Russia, have hijacked the computers of unsuspecting internet users for pornographic websites.
The system is complex. The hacker employed by the porn site will plant a program that advertises explicit material for people to buy over the net. The hijacked computers may advertise this pornographic material for only a few moments, making detection more difficult. Potential customers, having found the site during a trawl for pornography, will sign up as members and give their credit card details for payment. The hacker gets paid a percentage.
People who use high-speed internet connections are the most vulnerable, he said. By monitoring the traffic to porn adverts, he had already found 1,000 computers affected.

I am really getting annoyed by the porn industry. They have come up with countless ways to harass users, you think eventually after the million and a half popups, mysterious dekstop shortcuts, and spyware, people would just quit viewing porn on the net. But people continue, to flock to these sites in the millions, eventually the should step in here.

I can't really conceive how the porn industry would actually encourage that to occur through their buisness. Is that even legal? Thanks moxnix for that information...always good to hear something new.

Uh... thank you for that, ryan. You don't hack much then, I suppose.

Porn sites, and gambling sites, will probably keep pushing the advertising envelope... they're the biggest businesses online. Very cash-flush.

    [shadow]Good Article, [/shadow]

    Read something similar on theregister.com

I think one of the major points here is that your normal average home user wouldnt have a clue that his computer is being used as a spam / porn server.

The MASSIVE danger here is if Paedophiles (Kiddie Fiddlers) begin to use it as some sort of delivery / distribution method.

I can see it now, there I am at home smoking something less than legal, with only boxer shorts on, clicking through the AO forums...... then the Kiddie Fiddler task squad bust through my door and arrest my ass for something I didnt even know was happening.

    Cheers
