    really danseur35 thats not a half bad idea. the owner of the company i work for just had his laptop stolen. A deadmans switch would make me rest easier. I know users would occasionally set it off from time to time but their data is backed up to the network

    such logic bombs as you call them can come in handy whenn the occasional thief steels your laptop. Their main goal is to steal the device and don't care about the info on the computer. But if start checking out the data they wont expect such traps.

    This is however the only logical use I can think of for these things.
