Chinablue: Just a FYI- that post is OLD. I seriously doubt that they still need help. If they do, the chances of them actually checking it are slim. Though, the have suscribed to this thread... so they should get an email notification IF they still use the same email address.
Nice of you to try and help though.

You said you can't get into the admin level. but can you get in at all. if you can't you could just reinstall the OS. Another option (but be warned this dosen't allways work) is to add new hardware sometimes it will log you in automaticly to install it.
Once in the system go into C:\windows\ssytem32\config\Sam.sam and make a copy of the sam file, put it on antoher computer and run a PWG on it, this may take awhile but you shuold get then right PW soon.
Hope this helps!

If you installed 2 weeks ago, I would just do a reinstall. You can't have that much on your new PC in 2 weeks. Then just reinstall eveything. Backup what documents you can, then reinstall windows and reinstall everything (you DO have the install disks, right ?)

Why reinstall unless you have too! We have archives full of how to reset the password. Here’s one method which I know works.

don't believe the other crap
If you want your password it will cost you money. There is a program out there that will reset any Windows and Linux passwords. How do I know? Because I bought that damn program and after using it i got back into my system. Do you want to spend $150? The only way of getting back into your system is buying it?
I tried all that other bull crap it's a waste of time and it didn't work for me. Beside why spend hours of trying to crack your password or downloading cracking tools that take forever. When you can buy the software; take few minutes to crack.
So here is the website you should go to and purchase the software to crack any operating system password. >>> lostpassword.com
It worked for me and it should work for you. I'm not endoring this website, but if you want to reset your password and get back into your system without reinstalling the whole crap again, just buy it and use it again and again. By the way you can crack other people passwords if you can access the floppy disk or the cd-rom drives.
Enjoy the program if the price is higher than what i said, that's part of life.
