OS installation in a new computer
I have a new computer without an operating system.
All I see is failure to locate floppy start up. The
computer is suppose to be ready to install Mircosoft
but I can't get past this point. I know nothing about
programing or the language. So any help in simple
layman terms would be greatly appreciated.

Go into your bios and check your boot order... make sure it's Floppy, Cd-Rom, hard Drive... then it'll try to find something to boot off on one of those devices.

Do what HT suggested, and make sure its looking at your floppy first.
Also from Win 98, and up you do not need a floppy to install windows, all you have to do is put the cd into the cd-rom tray and make sure that your bios looks at you CD before it does your HD. However this will only work if you bought the full version and not an upgrade.
