Thread: Hacker challenges overview, need more links

    Well like I said we are working on getting the rating system up and going.
    But one thing got me a bit puzzled.
    if someone suspects it to be a honeypot
    .
    What do you mean exactly by this.
    If (for example) hackerslab dot org was a honeypot woudl it even matter ? They set up the server for you to play with, I think they are allowed to learn from the actions you take.
    Most of these sites state clearly that it is a 'hacker challenge / wargame", even if they tried to sue you they would not make a good case in court in my opinion.

    There have been reports of some hacker challenge sites spreading virusses, wheter trough active scripting or through the use of .exe's'. You should have active scripting disabled (or set to prompt) anyway if you want to maintain a good security policy and if you dont trust an .exe then dont run it in a working environment (vmware can be helpfull there).

    I hope that clears things up a bit.
    If you meant something different please explain it to me.
