    Anonymous Proxie Servers

I tumbled along to a site which contained a list of Proxie Servers and Anonymous Proxie Servers. I was wondering if a site like this can be trusted. Also is it better to pay for an Anonymous Proxie Server? Or should I just go with the free ones. Can this site be some kind of scam.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanx in advance BLUEWOLF !!!

The sites fine and besides, you can always check the proxies anonymity if you're not sure.

An easy way to tell is to look under the AO users info next to the post. I will say "Proxy Detected" if they are using one. I can't say how reliable it is but I have seen it from time to time.

Also, the term Anonymous proxy is sort of a misnomer. I'd look into proxy chaining to be certain that you keep true anonymity.

What did you mean by that. Im not using one now, but if I was going to use the one from that site do you think that those are "misnomer"??

    Just Curious....Thanx

Well when you use a single proxy server you're relying on that single server to mask your IP, however, if you use proxy chaining you're using multiple proxies to mask your identity.

    Make sense?

I use Megaproxy's paid-for service which works out at about $2 a month and comes with some nice toys to do with anonymity, popups and security settings. Surfing is done via a secure HTTPS window, no modifications are needed to software on your PC. Great for accessing web servers with funny port numbers through a strict firewall too.

However, if you're planning to do anything illegal, don't rely on any proxy outfit to protect your details. Despite all the claims they make, they'd tend to buckle fairly quickly if visited by the CIA

    Ok

I thought that I would post so you know get a Proxy that does not get along with the coountry you are in and then you won't have to worry about them buckling to the CIA. I tend to think that the middle east has a couple good ones.
