Try what Plastic suggested. Install the drivers first then plug it in. If it still reboots your computer it's probably broken and you need to return it.

This looks likely to be broken hardware to me.

It is extremely unlikely to be a driver problem with the modem - if Windows doesn't like what it sees then it will prompt you for the appropriate drivers.

Check the USB slot itself is OK - i.e. plug any other USB device into it (mouse, scanner, whatever), to check it isn't a hardware/software problem on your PC/mobo.

Do you have any other USB devices attached to your PC?
If not check that the USB drivers for your mobo itself are up to date.

All drivers are uptodate and when i connect my didgital camera there is no problem,
note :- the modem is a CDMA phone

Do you have another usb cable? I would try using that. it may or may not do anything

is that modem supposed to work with that windows system? there could be a compliance problem. Try it on another computer to see if it does the same thing. If it does, return in and get a new one.
