Hi
I am new here been around for a couple weeks reading posts and archieves. Lots of good info here. I can get around the internet maybe even take a puter apart and reassemble it with a close to about 100% chance that it will fire up again. Nothing special though. I am very envious when I read all that you know here, I am struggling to understand.

I have a question. After reading some posts on firewalls, trojans, malware, etc.... I decided to turn off my firewall and monitor what happened. Almost immediately I started getting someone pinging port 135 and 139. I went to the IP tracker that antionline provides and got a location of the ip address. Also this is what I got from nukenabber:

[08/09/2003 19:14:13.460 GMT-0700] Connection: 160.79.33.65.cfl.rr.com (65.33.79.160) on port 135 (tcp).
[08/09/2003 19:14:23.130 GMT-0700] Connection on port 135 (tcp) timed out waiting for data.
[08/09/2003 19:14:23.180 GMT-0700] Port 135 (tcp) is now disabled for 60 seconds.
[08/09/2003 19:20:46.780 GMT-0700] Port 135 (tcp) is re-enabled.
[08/09/2003 19:40:08.400 GMT-0700] Connection: adsl-66-139-162-17.dsl.pnblar.swbell.net (66.139.162.17) on port 139 (tcp).
[08/09/2003 19:40:08.570 GMT-0700] Disconnect: adsl-66-139-162-17.dsl.pnblar.swbell.net (66.139.162.17) on port 139 (tcp).
[08/09/2003 19:41:00.530 GMT-0700] Connection: adsl-66-139-162-17.dsl.pnblar.swbell.net (66.139.162.17) on port 139 (tcp).
[08/09/2003 19:41:00.690 GMT-0700] Disconnect: adsl-66-139-162-17.dsl.pnblar.swbell.net (66.139.162.17) on port 139 (tcp)

What kind of information can I get from this and is it helpful to me? Or did all I learn was to keep the firewall up? Anyway started the firewall again and all is quite.

Thanks
