    proxy server on linux box?

    i hope that this is the right forum
    anyways college is starting up for me soon and i hear that there network is using an internet filtering system called "Bess". websites like proxyone.com can get around bess' filtering but what i want to do is install my own proxy server on linux box to get around bess. any links here to help me out?

    Question: Why would you want to bypass this filter? So you can download stuff the admins didn't want you to download? Are you sure you want to run the risk of getting kicked out of school?

    i doubt you have to deal with the annoyence with Bess everyday. i can get past the downloading restrictions, but when BESS blocks google image seach, which i need i get very pissed off.
